INCARNATION IS THE REASON FOR CHRISTMAS

John 1:1

[1]In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, AND THE WORD WAS GOD.

Note: THE WORD WAS GOD!!!

From the dictionary meaning of the word 'incarnate' it means possessing or existing in bodily form.

That's exactly what happened with God and Christ.

God didn't send someone else, instead He is the one that possessed bodily form.

John 1:14

[14] AND THE WORD WAS MADE FLESH, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

This was what happened over 2000years ago, that we celebrate as Christmas on this day.

The day God - The Word, became flesh.

The day God was incarnated

The day God possessed bodily form.

Some often say Jesus never referred to himself as God, but that's not true. Jesus did that several times.

John 3:13

[13]And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but HE THAT CAME DOWN FROM HEAVEN, EVEN THE SON OF MAN WHICH IS IN HEAVEN.

The one in heaven is the same that came down from heaven.

Apostle Paul said it in a clearer way

1 Corinthians 15:47

The first man is of the earth, earthy: THE SECOND MAN IS THE LORD FROM HEAVEN.

That man called Jesus Christ is the LORD from heaven.

It is too clear.

Another text is John 14:8-10

[8]Philip saith unto him, Lord, SHEW US THE FATHER, and it sufficeth us.

The question was that Jesus should show them the Father, and here was Jesus' response

[9]Jesus saith unto him, HAVE I BEEN SO LONG TIME WITH YOU, AND YET HAST THOU NOT KNOWN ME, Philip? HE THAT HATH SEEN ME HATH SEEN THE FATHER; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father? 

[10]Believest thou not that I AM IN THE FATHER, AND THE FATHER IN ME? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.

Why will Jesus respond this way?

Because He is the incarnate of God.

He is God in bodily form.

He is God wearing flesh.

This is why we celebrate Christmas.

Even Prophet Isaiah knew this, he wrote in Isaiah 9:6

[6]For unto us A CHILD IS BORN, unto us A SON IS GIVEN: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, THE MIGHTY GOD, THE EVERLASTING FATHER, The Prince of Peace.

He said the child that will be born is the MIGHTY GOD.

This son that will be given is the EVERLASTING FATHER.

Simple stuff right?

Yes...it is very simple.

Apostle Paul wrote again in a clearer way

1 Timothy 3:16

[16]And WITHOUT CONTROVERSY great is the MYSTERY OF GODLINESS: GOD WAS MANIFEST IN THE FLESH, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.

WITHOUT ARGUMENT, GOD WAS MANIFEST IN THE FLESH!!!

It is not something to argue about or debate over.

It's just too easy to see.

You can't read the Apostles and arrive at two or three entity of God, that is, a God who has a separate biological son called Jesus Christ, and have Holy Spirit separate from them.

NO!

Instead He is God existing in three form to us and for us, it is for a reason.

That's why you'll see the Apostles use them together and interchangeably in their writings.

Acts 20:28

[28]Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the HOLY GHOST hath made you overseers, to feed the church of GOD, which HE HATH PURCHASED WITH HIS OWN BLOOD.

Jesus was not even mentioned verbally in this text even though we know that it was Jesus' blood that purchased us.

It's because Jesus is the Holy Spirit. Jesus is God.

They know this so well.

You'll also see other places especially in Paul's writings, "God, and Father of our Lord Jesus."

Also, see Philippians 2:5-8

[5]Let this mind be in you, which was also in CHRIST JESUS:

[6] WHO, BEING IN THE FORM OF GOD, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:

[7]But made himself of no reputation, and TOOK UPON HIM THE FORM OF A SERVANT, and WAS MADE IN THE LIKENESS OF MEN:

[8]And BEING FOUND IN FASHION AS A MAN, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

AMP: 8 Who, although being essentially one with God and in the form of God [possessing the FULLNESS OF THE ATTRIBUTES WHICH MAKE GOD GOD], did not think this equality with God was a thing to be eagerly grasped or retained,

7 But STRIPPED HIMSELF [OF ALL PRIVILEGES AND RIGHTFUL DIGNITY], so as to assume the guise of a servant (slave), in that He BECAME LIKE MEN AND WAS BORN A HUMAN BEING.

Did you see that?

He is in the form of God, but didn't retain those attributes that made God God, but instead he became man.

Colossians 2:9

[9]For IN HIM [CHRIST] dwelleth all the FULNESS OF THE GODHEAD BODILY.

God the Father, God the son, God the Holy Spirit, they have just ONE NAME - JESUS CHRIST!!!

THE DAY GOD BECAME MAN IS THE REASON WE ARE CELEBRATING CHRISTMAS.

Now, the more important matter is to know why God became flesh, knowing that God is very intentional, He is not careless. He does nothing without a reason.

Why will God who created the whole world decided to strip Himself of His GODLY ATTRIBUTES to become a servant, that is to take a form of man.

WHY???
