FILL YOURSELF WITH GOD BY OLUWAFISAYOMI AKINBOYO

The devil has three missions which are to kill, steal and destroy (John 10vs 10) .The Bible says he roams about seeking and looking for dry places, empty vessels and houses to fill up and devour.

The reason why the devil is able to penetrate into our lives is because we created a space for him to dwell in. Matthew 12 Vs 43 -45 talks about how unclean spirits and demons operate, when unclean spirit is gone out of a man,He has been displaced, and is obviously unhappy about it. He travels, “seeking rest, and finds none”—a miserable, unsatisfied existence. “Then he says, ‘ I will return to my house from which I came . ’ And when he comes he finds it empty, swept , and put in order”(Matt 12 : 44 ). The unclean spirit attempts to again possess the man who was his home—and finds the man more than willing to have him back ! Not only is he allowed entry , but the house is empty, swept, and put in order— ready for demon habitation .

You are a house, you decide what you fill your house with and you are a product of what lives in you. Many of us have swept, garnished and decorated our homes to host the devil. If the devil finds you empty and ready to accommodate him, he will come in to you and make your house his dwelling place and begin to control the affairs of your life. You are a product of he that dwells in you,you do the works of he that lives in you.

Have you ever wondered why you are spiritually dead, why your possessions in Christ have been taken away from you, why you do things that are not in accordance to God's will, why the things of God do not matter to you anymore, why you've lost your track? The reason is not farfetched , it is because you've prepared your home for the devil to dwell in and devour you.

I'm glad to tell you that there is a way out, send the devil packing with prayer because prayer makes power available, allow God to come into your life and make your heart his home. Do not stop there, consciously fill yourself with the word of God and allow the Holy Spirit to teach you. My mentor would always say,, the more of the word you have is the more of God you carry (John1 vs1). Study, digest and pattern your life according to the word.

It has been said, “idle hands are the devil’ s workshop”, and this principle is confirmed by Scripture. Fill up your life with the works of Jesus, or don’ t be surprised when devil returns in spades (Math 12 vs45). Do not be an idle Christian, get yourself engaged in the things of God.

Fill yourself with the word, fill yourself with God.
