GODS PUROSEFUL YOUTH (G.P.M.) ONLINE TEACHING
A 3-DAY TEACHING ON THE TOPIC: ‘THE TRINITY’

Pastor Bolu: Good evening people of God, I am delighted to bring the word of God to us this evening. I sincerely appreciate my brother for the opportunity to be a blessing to us in this group. Thanks for the good work here. I pray that our understanding shall be enlightened in Jesus name. I celebrate people of God in this group. I am honored to be among you.
We shall be looking at ‘The Trinity’. Let me begin by saying that the word Trinity is not found in the Scriptures but the concept trinity is explained throughout the Old Testament to the New Testament.
The Father, Son and the Holy Spirit are one. They are not one because they agree, but they agree because they are one. There is no competition among them. God is one.
In Genesis 1, the word 'God' in Hebrew means 'ELOHIM'. Elohim is a plural word and means 'ELOHA ELOHA'. Therefore, 'Elohim' signifies the presence of the Father and Son.
The Father is Eloha and the Son is Eloha too, while both are Elohim. The son had a title before the beginning as the Word. He was the Word with the Father in the beginning and He was God.
John 1:1-2 – ‘AMP: In the beginning [before all time] was the Word (Christ), and the Word was with God, and the Word was God Himself. The same was in the beginning with God.’
The Word needed to become Son because of saving mankind from sin and raise them to Sonship.
Both the Father and the Son (Elohim) have one Spirit- the Holy Spirit. The Bible often calls it the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of God and at some other passages of the scriptures as the Spirit of the Son for instance check Romans 8:14 – ‘For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. and 1Cor 2:14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.’
Just like the first man and his woman were bound by one Spirit, for it was written nowhere in scripture that God breathed into man and into the woman.
The man and the woman became alive through one breath
They shared one breath. Same way, the father and the son have one Spirit.
The father and the Son are one because they have one Spirit. I don't mean they are 'one in spirit', I mean they are one Spirit.
And that is why God is one. God reflects His nature in man when He made them male and female and called them Man instead of Men.
The man and the woman are one not because they have the same flesh or bones, because every other land animals were equally made from the earth, both flesh and bone.
The man and woman are one because they have one Spirit
Those who sees from the physical will find two persons, but when they are seen in the spiritual sense, they are one
God sees man in the spiritual senses and not in the physical sense.
This is why many too can't understand the nature of God because, they only see Him from the physical point of view.
In the spiritual sense, we see the ELOHIM not as two but one. And that is why it is written 'God is Spirit' - John 4:24.
Note- that it didn't say God are spirits but God is spirit.
So the father and the son is the Spirit
John 4:24 says God is spirit and 2Cor 3:18 explains "Now the Lord is the Spirit ". The Son doesn't have a spirit apart from the father and vice versa.
I remember I told us that the Son doesn't have a spirit apart from the father and vice versa
Now in 1Cor 12, the Apostle Paul explains about the Spirit. In the Septuagint, it was the 'spiritual' the word 'gift' was later added to it so it could make reasonable sense
Apostle Paul explains that there are divers 'abilities', but the same spirit.
Further, he explained there are different administrations but the same Lord.
Lastly, he said there are kinds of operations but the same God.
Apostle Paul here explains the way God operates.
The father operates, His work is by the administration of the son and the work is done by the ability of the Spirit
The Book of proverb sheds light on this, it reads
Then I (the Son) was beside Him (the Father) as a master craftsman... Proverbs 8:30
Note that it says the son was beside the father as a master craftsman.
In the creation work, the Word (now known as Jesus Christ the Son) was beside the father.
In other words, the father was the constructor while the son was the architect
This means that the father works in accordance with the directions or administrations of the Son and works through the power of the Spirit.
And there is no competition or complaints among them. In a nutshell, the operations of the Father is carried out through the ability of the Spirit in accordance to the administration of the Son
We are on the topic Trinity. We cannot use three days to exhaust trinity. Because eternity is not even enough to know trinity. But God will help me to bring out the cogent points that I believe will help our journey in this path. I pray for light and understanding tonight
With my teachings so far, we can understand that The Father, the son and the spirit are different personality but are one
In the Old Testament God manifested himself to the Israelites as one God
After many centuries, God came to the earth in the person of His Son and when the Son accomplished His work, He Sent the Person of Holy Spirit to us. This is the presentation of Three in one
When Jesus began His public life, during baptism, the father spoke out of Heaven, "This is my beloved Son" and the Spirit descended visibly upon in the form of a dove.
Holy Spirit is not a dove, He is a person. He just descended on Jesus in form of a dove. Take note of that
Here is a threefold revelation of God given to man on the level of physical senses
If you take note of Christ teachings, He constantly spoke of Himself and His father as two distinct persons but yet declared equal. The equality here means they are one.
Another thing I want you to note is this, the Holy Spirit is not junior to the Son while the Son is Junior to the Father. They are equal which means they are one.
Never think you can reverence the father more than the Son or vice versa. No. Jesus said Him and His father are one. He said if you have seen me, you have seen the father. - John 10:30
In Christ teachings, a third is brought as a being God also. He said, "The Holy Spirit, whom the father will send in my name, He shall teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I said unto you."- John 14:26
We can see that Christ said, as He is going, Holy Ghost will come and take His place
From there that the Spirit though a different being but is one with the Father and the Son. The Spirit has no ministry of His own. He is not independent. He is coming to bring into remembrance what the Son has taught and reveal the Son more to us.
I will still later come to explain this.
Everything about the description of the trinity in the Bible, like I told you that the word trinity is not written in the Bible but the concept is found there, the father, the son,  the Holy Spirit definitely and absolutely is no more and no less than the tree persons in the Godhead.
In that three-ness, each one is distinct from the other two, no one of the three could possibly be either of the other two: and no two of the three can exist without the third
Listen to me, God is manifest as an absolute three-ness, yet He is an absolute one. How? The three are absolutely one. That is, each one represented as God. I am not saying they are part of God, but each one is God. Each one is a whole God. Personality is not divisible, God cannot be divided.
The three are represented as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
The Word of God makes it clear that the father is first, the Son is the second and the Holy Ghost is the third. This doesn't mean that one is first in Deity, for all are God. And it doesn't mean that one is Greater for all are infinite and it doesn't mean that one is first in time for all are eternal
Spirit comes from the Father through the Son
Read John 14:26 – ‘But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.’
God works through the Son. In Him and through Him all things are created -Col 1:16
Father, we pray for light in Jesus name. Amen. As we continue on the teaching on Trinity. God will grant us understanding.
The Spirit like the father is unseen but His chief work is to reveal the Son and in the Son He reveals the Father.
Listen, we are living in the dispensation of the Holy Spirit. If we don't make use of this time with the Holy Spirit, you are cheating yourself.
It is the Holy Spirit who has made the father and the Son so real to us.
I will like to dwell more on this.
The work of the Spirit goes beyond miraculous acts or demonstration of the gifts of the Spirit. His primary work is to reveal the Son to us, in us and through us...
The Holy Spirit reveals the deep things of God to us.
The deep things of God are those things that pertain to His heart or the counsel of His heart.
They have to do with the secret of His heart which no one knew. Though the whole of the heavenly beings see God at work ever since creation, yet they can't fathom what would be the totality of all His work.
God knew those things in His heart, the things in His heart are called the heartbeat of God.
The Bible says "....Things that angels desire to look into" 1Pet 1:13
Lucifer and his agents too did not understand it- 1Cor 2:8, 10:12
The things of God knoweth no man except the Spirit of God
Spirit and heart are inseparable. Apostle Peter puts it like this, the hidden man of the heart - 1Peter 3:4.
The spirit of man is the hidden man of the heart. The Holy Spirit is the hidden man of God's heart.
That is why the Spirit can search the deep things of God because the heart is deep.
Holy Spirit reveals Christ to us which is the heart of God and in Christ we see God
That is why the Holy Spirit plays important role in conforming us to the image who is Christ.
The realm of time can't exhausts this eternal being, the father, the son and the spirit. In our private study about the trinity, God will give us more light.
But as I stop, you cannot know Christ except by the Spirit, when Christ is revealed then we can see God.  Thanks for the privilege of sharing God's Word
Stay blessed.
