GODS PURPOSEFUL YOUTH (G.P.Y.) ONLINE TEACHING
‘WHAT TO DO WITH THIS NEW YEAR – (Beginning)
Good evening Saints.
HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL ONCE AGAIN.
It's another Friday.
We are to have a study today.
So without wasting time, shall we begin to pray in tongues as we are starting right away…
This year is a going to be a year of supernatural leading of the spirit and by God's grace we will grow in grace and Knowledge of Christ this year.
Get ready to prepare for Spirit for this year.
Many will be surprised at the growth level they will find themselves at the end of this year.
God told me, light is shinning
Epignosis is covering everywhere
We will walk in power with ease and use it to save lives
Our archives for souls in heaven will be more filled this year because u are going to preach and raise disciples beyond what you expect.
This is our year of light.
GLORAYYYY TO GOD!!!
Amen!
Tonight I'll like to continue on sin but I've not done some preparation and I'll have to pause it for now.
So we will be talking on something different tonight, if I can't finish it tonight we will continue tomorrow evening.
Are you ready?
2Tim. 3:15-17
15 And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. 16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17 That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.
Please note carefully the Bolden places.
It's sacrosanct.
The essence of tonight's study is to pattern our lives,
We use d scriptures to pattern how we live.
From there we get to learn of God – Doctrine
We learn lessons on how to live – reproof
We learn therein to correct mistakes or errors - Correction.
We also learn the instructions that lies in the nature u have received which is righteousness.
This is not where I'm going tonight.
We will quickly examine some things about patterning our lives to be like God.
Now I'm not talking about trying to live righteous to please God so that u will become righteous.
No
U are already righteous by Jesus' obedience
But I'm talking about how to show the world that righteous life u have gotten.
How to live as a man in the spirit
Your action
Your relationship
Your lifestyle and d likes.
WHAT TO DO WITH THIS NEW YEAR
That's d topic...
Who is with me?
We've heard many resolution for the new year from many friends,
Statuses portraying such are so rampart that people now see a routine in it.
Every year, they have the same revolution.
Most people always want to cut of many people from their life.
Probably because they don't add any value to their lives, monetarily, physically, spiritually even in chatting.
Well...I'm not asking anyone not to cut off anyone but watch carefully if u have actually blessed EVERY of your friends and contacts.
If u have not, then think twice before trying to cut off some people.
Can anyone say to u that your status has blessed them spiritually mainly in 2019?
Many of us, it's only MCM, WCW TGIF Owambe etc.
That's all we can say about your status.
This is not where I'm going to this night.
Let's come back home.
Expectations are very common among all men,
Believers has much more expectations and that's why we keep praying on some things.
So it's very good to hear expectations.
It's no crime.
But priority determines your expectations.
What u value in your mind determines your priorities
If u don't set your priorities right, it means your mind is placing value on irrelevant things and obviously u will end up expecting d wrong things thereby birthing wrong prayer points.
For instance,
A Christian who is always thinking about material things, he will set priority on how to make more money, expect monetary rewards and hence pray about money all the time. And if asked what he want to achieve this New Year, obviously what he will say will be around d circle of what he thinks about, what he prioritizes, what he's expecting and what he prays for and on.
But if there is a believer who understands God, the mind of God will be exact his mind, how to win souls for God, discipline people and the labour behind achieving great success in those things.
Hence all his mind, priority, expectations and prayers will be Christ-Centred.
That said
Taking advantage of things around, this is also another thing to put in mind.
Jesus during his ministry, took advantage of happenings to talk about the nature of God for people to understand and know God more.
For instance in John 4, he used the well issue to talk about himself to the Samaritan woman, therefore he was able to preach to many others.
Words that started with "give me water to drink" now become a crusade where people of a whole city came to listen to.
Also in John 6, he fed people with bread and fish and therefore used such to talk about him being the bread of life.
Also in John 7, he used d day of Passover to teach on the promise of the Holy Spirit.
So Jesus was just maximising those opportunities to teach about God
"Ehnnnn...Christmas is not in the Bible so our we are not to celebrate Christmas."
Hmmmm...why go to work or school on Mondays to Fridays, go to church on Sundays?
Are the days of the week in the Bible as well?
Y not say all days are for God so we don't recognize a day as d name given to it.
Why do u celebrate birthdays then???
What if your parents actually didn't know if they gave u a wrong date of birth?
Are they in the Bible?
The issue should not be about the day or the celebration, d festive time, d name of the day.
Sabbath day in Jerusalem are well honoured but Jesus did many miracles on Sabbath day just to show them that we are not created for days, instead days are created for us hence don't let them Pattern your life or belief.
If u like celebrate Christmas, if u like don’t, it's your choice but what I'm loud about is the fact that u are to use such opportunity to talk about Christ.
Christmas time is such a great opportunity to preach the gospel to people.
They are eating meat and throwing bangers but they obviously don't understand what happened that made such day memorable.
For your information, even Muslims join the celebration ooo, they will kill fowl, eat meat and shoot bangers.
Many are always in the spirit of Christmas and honestly it's a great opportunity to tell them about God's love.
How God was in man and went through death so that we can all be saved and have eternal life
Every opportunity is like a holiday that is given by either the church, the government, the unbelievers or even the idol worshippers or whatever, USE THOSE DAY TO ANNOICE CHRIST.
Always be ready to talk about Christ everywhere and every day and anytime.
Don't be ashamed to talk about Him to people.
Who is following this now???
Col. 2:16
16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days: 17 Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.
See that one.
Don't even think I'm making it up like a motivational speaker.
No ooo.
The Bible is our standard.
Use those big big opportunity to tell someone about God's love, about Christ, about salvation.
By the grace of God, something I didn't achieve before, in this last Christmas, I blessed God that I was able to preach and get 4people born again.
Glory to God!
That's the greatest thing that put smile on God's mouth most.
So it will now be Christmas celebration on earth and souls’ celebration in heaven.
(That's an introductory part actually, I have 4 pages to teach and I'm still at d middle of the first page.)
Ok.
Ephesians 5:15-16. (This is where I'm starting from.)
15 See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, 16 Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
This is after Paul has taught them how to behave and handle dark things, the work of the flesh, that they should not cover it but expose it to light
The word 'circumspectly' is the Greek word 'akripos' and it's used for investigating things carefully.
Every child of God must be careful of the way u live.
"Ehnnnn...after all I won't lose my salvation if I fornicate or lie, sebi I'm still a child of God."
If that's your mind-set, u need to check well if u have really gotten saved and if u are indeed saved then u need some beatings honestly.
That can NEVER be a mind-set of someone who is indeed saved…
Have ye not read that the grace of God that appears to all men teaches us to deny ungodliness and worldly lust and fleshy desires?
U are a pastor in charge of a church and u still see nothing wrong in going to party or club houses.
"shebi it's not a sin to go there now, after all I'm not going there to drink alcohol or drugs or pick prostitutes."
Well-done oooo man of God.
What will one of your member think if he found u in such places?
Have ye not read that you don't use your liberty to make fellow believers fall who Jesus died for?
U need to be careful.
Very careful.
U like talking anyhow?
U are a priest, a mentor, a discipler, u train young converts or let’s say u happen to be a leader in one unit at your local church, and u are very garrulous, it's as though your mouth is the pit of the waste Management board of the State.
Bros come, who is doing you?
Caution is the word of God.
Caution where u go, what u saw, what u do, what was being said to you and d likes.
Even Jesus said take heed!
It's d Greek word 'horate' it means look carefully and be watchful.
Are u learning something here?
So Paul is saying u need to be careful, watchful, cautioned and conscious of your walk and your conduct and your action.
...not as fools but as wise.
Fools are those who does not understand the word of God.
Those who don't believe and appreciate God's word and especially don't live by it.
They are ignorant, like very ignorant of Christ.
Those are who we call fools.
For instance the people on the road to Emmaus in Luke 24, also the Galatians in chapter 3.
Jesus is the wisdom of God and hence to be wise u need to have Christ.
Know Him well.
Study the Bible and learn of Him more.
Then pattern your life in like manner
That's when u are indeed wise.
Say to yourself:
I'm wise.
I'm not a fool because I know Christ.
Verse 16 - Redeeming the time...
Redeeming is the Greek word 'exagorazomenoi' it means to buy out.
Used 4 times in the New Testament Greek in Gal 3:13, 4:15, Col. 4:5 and Eph. 4:16 where we are looking at.
Time is also the Greek word 'kairon' which means opportunities or moments,
It's often used for things that don't happen at all times.
Hence Paul is saying, bros bros, u no get time laidat oo, no dey waste am bcos una no get time for your cabar.
Who understands this pidgin gist?
Paul's saying is 'u don't have time to waste, because u don't always have it at your side'
It's non-negotiable.
Every new day, new month, or New Year is a blessing and as well is an opportunity to bless lives and preach Christ.
U should not be excited about time but instead you should be responsible for time.
- PCSO
Learn to use this New Year time wisely.
When we read time in days and years. God reads it in purpose.
Acts 1:6-8
6 When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel? 7 And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power. 8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
The disciples were thinking of time and days but Jesus was already focusing on the heavenly time, after all he's a heavenly man.
The power of Holy Spirit gives us a sense of direction and a purpose of living.
Again I say, we see life and read time in days and years but God sees life and read time in purpose.
Hence you must use this time the exact way God will want u to use it or exactly the way God will use it.
See time as your purpose.
Save souls.
'You can spend time like money and waste time like money.'
- Myles Muoroe
Use that time judiciously
Maximize your time effectively.
Use it for something tangible
Use it for something that will make God proud of you.
Use it for something that shows God to people
Use it for something that reveals Christ to people and made them know more of God's love.
There are times u are led to do something immediately, please don't postpone it, do it right away as the spirit ordered you to do so.
The fact that everything happens in time makes time very important to life.
U don't need to have the whole world to do God's will but u have the time, manage and use it wisely.
Your yesterday should not be your old good days, not last year, it should not be a once upon a time thing.
Every day should always be your good old days.
Today, tomorrow and d rest of your life.
God is a god of second chance.
True!
But imagine that all had the attitude of seeing God as a god of second chance, no one will get born again talk less of preaching or teaching.
Jesus is saying they need to have learned and grow up and that he does not have all d time to be with them and keep doing these things, time will come for them to also do d same.
Many people will be like let me make my mistakes, I'm still young, I'll learn my lesson from it.
That's a fool.
U wanted to do something wrong and someone corrected you yet u insisted to still go on and do it...
Ahhhhhh u need to be punished.
There are things you do out of ignorance, they are called mistakes, but when u know it and still went ahead, that's disobedience.
Paul while addressing how to handle heresies and those teaching it, he said after 2nd or 3rd admonition, let such be, just leave him alone.
Even Jesus told Judas, what he wanted to do, he should do it quickly
As I close for tonight and we'll continue tomorrow.
I close with this Matt. 17:17
Then Jesus answered and said, O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I suffer you? bring him hither to me.
Therefore everything is all timed. Learn to maximize your time and use those opportunity to propagate d gospel of Christ.
We'll continue with Heb. 5:12-14 tomorrow from here
Thanks for following
QUESTIONS ARE WELCOME ANYTIME ANYDAY.
