BE SPIRITUALLY CONNECTED AT ALL TIMES By Awotiku Akinlayo David

BE SPIRITUALLY CONNECTED AT ALL TIMES. By Awotiku Akinlayo David We are in a dispensation of time where Christians struggle in place of prayer. They believe prayer is to be performed at a particular time, it is a time to get connected with the spirit for spiritual activities. The time set aside for prayer or personal devotion is not the correct time to start looking for spiritual connections but it is a time to start operating with ease spiritual transaction. Many have fall victim of these things (myself inclusive) because they get disconnected from the spirit after a long spiritual encounter and they are waiting to get connected again in the next set time for spiritual exercise. Prayer is not a part of our life, it is our lifestyle. Christians are controlled by the Spirit in all areas of life not just in the time for spiritual gymnastics alone. Acts 17:28a – ‘for in Him we live and move and have our being,’ We don’t give leisure time to our spirit man, we don’t assign...

THE SOMETHING IN YOU THAT TALKS TO YOU by Awotiku Akinlayo David

THE SOMETHING IN YOU THAT TALKS TO YOU I was offended by someone today, it was a very grievous one that could instigate high level of annoyance which could lead to something else. It was an intentional act and was obvious to people that he was at fault yet the person tried to prove himself right. I wanted to retaliate, give abusive responses and even slap or beat the person blue-black but something in me told me to calm down, that something cautioned me so that it won’t go beyond this level  to creating hatred, grief and fight amongst brethren. I was coming home from church last Sunday, the road I always pass was on my mind while something in me told me to pass the other route. I argued because the road was the fastest and I ignored the leading, I followed the normal road I always pass. A fatal accident happened that almost claimed my life. I felt if I had listened to that something that was telling me to pass the other long route, I wouldn’t have been a victim of acc...

THE TROUBLED PEACEFUL MAN (The Conclusion) by Awotiku Akinlayo David

THE TROUBLED PEACEFUL MAN (Conclusion) Continuation We look up to fathers of faith as role models, men like Bishop Oyedepo and the likes; As though they are living a perfect life by the virtue of their great exploits; We see peace, joy and love radiating in the spirituality of their personality; We wish to be rich and financially blessed like them; We wish to perform different signs and wonders the same way they do; We think they were born with special anointing and that they have never faced any difficulties before; We thought they have never in any way struggled with little foxes and secret faults before; With all zealousness, peacefulness, love and enjoyment they speak about God to everyone; They joyously teach and preach to people but they may be experiencing hard times at a moment; We had forgotten that bad and hard times befell them seriously when they started ministry; At the time to take up the mantle of the gospel, they were confused, disturbed an...

THE TROUBLED PEACEFUL MAN (The beginning) by Awotiku Akinlayo David

THE TROUBLED PEACEFUL MAN (The beginning) In the perplexities and difficulties of life; Where sufferings and pains lie, grievous and devastating states; In the hearts of men especially in the private life of believers; We long to sort things out by all means we come across; It provokes secret weeping when the pain seems deeper than the cross; We are scared to tell people about it to protect our integrity in Christianity; Because we think no one can really sort them out perfectly in reality; Don’t worry, God is in charge, talk to Him about your anxiety. There are times we claim to enjoy the presence of God; We easily sort out people’s problem even though it seems like a tree’s log; We rebuke and reproof people just to set them up in the Lord; We as well train and discipline people in the way of the Lord; We smile and laugh while in the midst of the congregation of God; Yet our heart weeps at the same time at when the smiling is coming forth; We enc...
